As I noticed yesterday night, it was just a 1st April canard the thing with Wordpattrn! and Wordpress…And I did run into it as every year again.

I installed yesterday evening, my first Joomla! 1.1( or now 1.5) nightly build and I have to say it looks fine. The installation is already a bit nicer looking. The used theme is totally different which creates for me a bad feeling that alot of work comes for me to keep mine working…
Also I’m afraid that many of the components couldn’t work anymore…but yeah I need to see how it will be, when the final release is out. But what I noticed was that the administration menu seems to be a bit empty, in comparison with the 1.0.x releases Menu. I’m guessing they will come with the time again.

Yeah and my second Widget for Wordpress is done: phJoomla Latest Entries it shows you the latest Joomla entries within your Blog, you can chose from only Frontpage Articles or just the latest created or modified Articles to show.
As the other component it’s highly customizeable.

    Hi,

Great to hear u like 1.5. To answer some of your concers :

    - 1.5 is built with a high level of backwards compatibility. Most third part extentensions will work or only require a small amount of changes. If a certain extenstion fails, please contact the developer and let him know. We are happy to guide any third party developer to make his/her extension(s) compatible with 1.5.

    - The administration menu has indeed changed considerable, actually we simplified it. What u find in the nighlty builds is for 9O% what is will be in the beta release. All is still there, we just moved certain menu items into the actual component. Goal is to make things more usable and transparent.

    - As for the templates, your currect Joomla! 1.0 template should be 100% compatible with 1.5, if this isn’t the case then please post your problem on the 1.5 quality and testing forums and we will help u solve it.

    Have fun using Joomla!
